Our Mission
The Colombian Community of Victoria represents integrity in this multicultural country through assisting and supporting each other. Uniting as one identity and integrating in the greater Australian community will give us the opportunity to extend a hand of compassion to the underprivileged children of Colombia. This is achievable with our solidarity and dedication.

We welcome people from everywhere to join the Colombian Community of Victoria!

Semilla & Fruto Foundation
The Foundation is a non profit organization that was established in April 2001 and is located in La Cristalina, Comuna Seis del Municipio de Soacha Cundinamarca Colombia. Its vision is based on solely developing effective social work for the children affected by poor nutritional health, violence and other consequences of unemployment mainly caused by displacement. For this reason there are a lot of children and teenagers that are forced to work in many jobs that put their integrity at risk. The foundation has created a program: 'NUTRICION DESARROLLO Y FUTURO', which consist of working in three areas: Education, Food and Childcare. At the moment, 268 children are part of this program. The difficulty is to financially maintain the program without compromising the quality of care and be even more accessible to those children who are still waiting our help.

The Colombian Community of Victoria is proud to be involved with this charity. It is our goal to make a remarkable difference to these children this year. Our aim is to raise enough funds to provide a comfortable sleeping space for each child to rest on, more educational resources and continued support with their objective of Nutrition for all. With your help, we will achieve our goal. All you need to do is come along to our events, enjoy yourselves, live your culture and you have contributed to helping these children along on their journey.

Our Year So Far...
The Colombian Community of Victoria has started 2009 with more enthusiasm and motivated people than ever before. After the devastating Black Saturday Bush Fires, we held a Fundraising BBQ with all food donated by committee members and we managed to raise approximately $500. It is a little, that some way or another helped the people most affected by this Australia’s worst natural disaster.

Soon after, we held our Official Launch Day at the Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy North. The weather held off and a fun day was had by all. We had a few technical glitches but once we got over that hurdle, it was smooth sailing. One of our main objectives for the day was to introduce our Membership scheme which more than anything is a small contribution that everyone can make to help us keep the community united. There are costs involved such as liability insurance, base financial support for running events and others that without your contribution it would be extremely difficult to keep this association alive. For these reasons we invite everyone to become a member if you have not already joined.

The CCOV Futsal Tournament also kicked off with a bang. It ran over for four weekends at Jordanville Community Centre, Chadstone where many people gathered to support there partners, husbands, brothers, mates while enjoying delicious, traditional Colombian Food. It was wonderful to see such great sportsmanship amongst the players. This tournament has given the committee insight into some valuable key players who will be selected for the returning 'Copa Simon Bolivar' interstate Football tournament. Brisbane are warming up and rearing to go. The winners of the Futsal Tournament were 'Media de Cristal' and in 2nd place, 'Verdolaga'. Congratulations to both!

We also had the celebration of the Colombian Independence Day, which was a great success! Your participation was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all. Bahia and Songosorongo left the dance floor worn out... There were people dancing the WHOLE night! And our own Folkloric Dance Group which was lead by Monica Dominguez was a huge hit... to think that the two dances were coreographed in under 1 month...
All in all the night was a tremendous success. Preperations are already underway for next years Bi-Centenary of Colombia's Independence! Keep checking here and on our website for further information.
